I'm Just A Broadway Baby-July Activities!

The hills are alive with the sound of music...

We are learning about all of broadway musicals. In class we explored what makes musical theater and how everyone works together to create the magic.  During our movement exercises we explored tounge twisters, since performance need to be confident with their speech. We worked on our pitch and explored puppet theater as well for our storytime. We learned all about:

  • Pitch Control: by singing song that are familiar

  • Repeating the Solfege (Do-Re-Me): Adding the challenge of singing to "Do"

  • Discovering group circle games and team work activities

  • Confidence: Exploring speech and diction through song

Have fun creating a puppet theater out of an old cardboard box this summer. Recycle, reduce, reuse. Create your own puppets out of socks, or even popsicle sticks. Be creative with some of your favorite childhood songs with your little ones.
